    1. Rectification (AC to DC):
      • The VFD takes fixed-frequency AC power from the grid (e.g., 60Hz). 
      • A rectifier, usually a 6-pulse diode bridge, converts this three-phase AC into a rough, pulsating DC. 
    2. Filtering (DC Bus):
      • This rough DC then goes to the DC bus, a section with capacitors and resistors. 
      • These components filter and smooth the DC, creating a stable, constant DC voltage. 
    3. Inversion (DC to Controlled AC):
      • The smooth DC is fed into an inverter, which uses Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) as high-speed electronic switches. 
      • The controller rapidly turns these switches on and off (Pulse Width Modulation or PWM) to generate a new AC waveform with adjustable frequency and voltage. 
      • The speed of an AC motor is directly related to the frequency of the power it receives, so by changing the frequency, the VFD precisely controls the motor's RPM.
