    What size should my WW2 British 1940 Pattern greatcoat be?
    Popular comment · Ideally get one tailored to your size. Some stores like Schusters will do it for a small extra fee. If not then your options are getting the right size for your chest and having the arms stick out or the right length for your arms and having it loose around the chest. Personally I prefer a good fit around the torso and don't mind if the sleeves are an inch short, but when it's the dead of winter and you can fit another layer of clothes underneath the greatcoat you might be thankful for the looser fit. Consider what weather you're most likely to wear this in.
