    Advantages of Dry Expansion Chillers 
    • Lower Refrigerant Charge: Reduces the overall amount of refrigerant needed, which is particularly beneficial for high-cost or regulated refrigerants.
    • Simplified Oil Return: High refrigerant velocity ensures better oil return to the compressor.
    • Reduced Risk of Freezing: Less vulnerable to freezing problems in the heat exchanger. 
    Difference from Flooded Chillers
    In a dry expansion chiller, the refrigerant is fully evaporated as it moves through the tubes. Conversely, in a flooded chiller, the tubes are submerged in a pool of liquid refrigerant, generally allowing for more efficient heat transfer at higher capacities.
