    • Activation Requirements: Micronized powders require activation via temperature (
      30−80∘C30 minus 80 raised to the composed with power C

      ) and shear to develop full thickening potential. Pre-activated pastes, like Arkema's Crayvallac, are more convenient and avoid this step.       
    Common Applications 
    • Industrial coatings, marine paints, and automotive refinishes.
    • Structural adhesives and sealants.
    • Printing inks.
    • Used as a, or in combination with, an alternative to organic clays or silica, especially when high clarity or low sheen impact is desired. 
    Common Product Forms 
    • Micronized Powder: Requires careful, controlled temperature and shear activation to disperse properly.
    • Pre-activated Paste: Easier to handle, easier to disperse, and offers more stable, immediate thickening. 
    Limitations 
    • Requires precise temperature control during manufacturing to activate (for powder form).
    • Potential to cause seeding (small particles) if over-activated or under-dispersed.
