Installation Steps 
  1. Preparation & Layout: Use the provided manufacturer template to mark precise locations on the door frame and top of the door. Accuracy is crucial.
  2. Mortising: Use a router or chisel to create a pocket for the main body of the hydraulic damper, usually at the top of the door frame or the top edge of the door.
  3. Install the Damper: Insert the hydraulic cylinder unit into the mortised hole and secure it with screws.
  4. Install the Counter Plate: Attach the counter plate (receiving hook or track) on the opposite side (either top of the door or frame) to ensure it aligns with the damper mechanism.
  5. Adjust the Damper: Test the door for smooth closing and use the adjustment screws on the damper to control the soft-close speed, usually within the last 10 degrees. 
Key Considerations 
  • Door Type: Suitable for wooden, steel, or aluminum doors with a minimum thickness, typically 33mm to 40mm+.
  • Capacity: Ensure the damper model supports the weight of your door (e.g., 15-40kg, 40-100kg).
  • Concealment: The mechanism is completely hidden when the door is closed. 
For heavy doors up to 100 kg (220 lbs), specialized models like the Sugatsune LDD-V100 are frequently used to ensure soft-close action.
