    • Grade C: Lowest priced cells with significant deviations in capacity or performance, generally suited only for small, single-cell, low-drain applications. 
    Grading Process Key Parameters
    The grading system generally uses automated equipment to perform the following: 
    • Capacity Grading: Evaluates if the actual Ah matches the rated capacity.
    • Internal Resistance (IR) Testing: Measures resistance, which helps predict heat generation and ability to deliver high current.
    • Voltage/OCV Consistency: Identifies potential self-discharge issues that could indicate hidden defects.
    • Cycle Testing: Charges and discharges cells (often over multiple cycles) to ensure stability. 
    Common Misconceptions 
    • All Cells are Equal: Cells produced in the same batch can vary significantly, requiring grading.
    • B-Grade is Defective: B-grade cells are not necessarily unsafe; they simply fall outside the strict parameters of A-grade, often owing to cosmetic issues or lower capacity constraints.
