    • Real-Time Sensing: External current transformers (CTs) measure the load current, and a digital signal processor (DSP) calculates the required compensation in real time.

    • Modular Design: SVG units are often modular (e.g., 30kVAR to 150kVAR modules), allowing for easy expansion by paralleling multiple racks in a single cabinet.
    • Hybrid Solutions: SVGs can be used alongside traditional capacitor banks; the capacitor bank handles the base load, while the SVG provides the "fine-tuning" and rapid response.
    • Control Interface: Modern systems feature HMI screens and support communication protocols like Modbus, RS485, and Ethernet for remote monitoring and SCADA integration.
