    • Key Advantages:

      • Versatility: Capable of handling multiple harmonic orders simultaneously.
    • Applications: Essential for systems with high nonlinear loads, such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), data centers, and, arc furnaces, as noted by MTE Corporation[0].
    • Disadvantages: Generally higher cost, complex control algorithms, and lower efficiency compared to passive filters, with power losses ranging from 3% to 7%.

    While passive filters are cheaper and suitable for fixed loads, active filters provide superior, adaptive performance for fluctuating, complex, and high-power industrial loads.
