Introduction

Turn off the water supply and remove water from the tank. (Note: you don't need to remove all of the water from the tank to do this maintenance work)

Disconnect the overflow tube

Disconnect the outlet valve head from the lever handle cable box

Remove the outlet valve head by turning it counter-clockwise and pulling up

Turn the valve head upside down to expose the seal. Remove and replace the seal.

Replace the outlet valve head.

Reconnect the lever handle cable box and overflow tube

Turn the water supply back on and replace the lid.
