      1. Remove: Take off the air filter cover and carefully remove the foam pre-filter. 
      2. Wash: Wash the foam in warm, soapy water to remove dirt. 
      3. Rinse & Dry: Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out excess water (don't wring it). Let it dry completely. 
      4. Oil: Lightly oil the clean, dry foam (using a few drops of clean engine oil worked in) and squeeze out any excess oil to prevent drips into the carburetor.
